SPRING IN THE OUTER BANKS OF NORTH CAROLINA

 

The legends, lights and lore of the NC Outer Banks are sure to tickle your senses! Let your imagination take flight as you step back in time with the Wright Brother’s or journey along with the Corolla Wild Horses brought to the Banks by early explorers, the have roamed across this land for nearly 400 years.  Don’t forget your cameras to catch the breathtaking views from the coasts lighthouses and perhaps a sighting of an infamous pirate shipwreck along the coastline. Lastly we tempt your taste buds with the fruits of the sea and the freshest daily catch.  Join us for the mystery, beauty and bounty of the Outer Banks!  Includes a visit to the Wright Brothers Memorial, Currituck Lighthouse, Corolla Village, Outer Banks Wildlife Center for a Wild Horse Tour, Hatteras Lighthouse, Jockey's Ridge, historic fishing village of Manteo and tours of the surrounding area's, three hot breakfast and three dinners as in Itinerary, all touring and admissions, baggage handling and welcome gift for everyone upon arrival.

Day 1

Depart for the Outer banks. stops on the way and arrive at the OBX to visit Wright Brothers
Memorial - this National Memorial commemorates two ingenious brothers from Dayton, Ohio who chose in 1900 the sparsely populated area known as the Outer Banks to conduct a series of experiments that three years later resulted in the world’s first heavier
than air, powered controlled flight. Check in to the Ramada Plaza Oceanfront Hotel welcome reception upon arrival - all rooms have ocean views
Evening Enjoy the fabulous water views as we have dinner at the Basnight’s Lone Cedar (choice of entrée with accompanying sides, fresh bread, dessert and coffee, tea and water) Return to the hotel after .

Day 2

Hot breakfast at the hotel then depart the hotel for travel to Corolla, NC. Visit the Currituck Lighthouse (individuals can climb) and Corolla Village as well as the OBX Wildlife Center for a Wild Horse Tour - Descended from the Spanish Mustangs brought to
the Outer Banks by early explorers, the Corolla Wild Horses have roamed across the Currituck Outer Banks for approximately 400 years. These wild horses roam freely in Corolla and are most commonly found in the four-wheel-drive areas of the beach. Lunch and shopping on your own in the quaint town of Duck, NC then time at the hotel to rest, enjoy the beach and ocean views and freshen-up before dinner. Dinner this evening at The Dunes (garden salad, choice of entrée with accompanying sides, dessert and coffee, tea and water) then return to the hotel after dinner.

Day 3

Hot breakfast at the hotel then depart the hotel with our local guide for our day of touring as we travel down the banks to the natural beauty that is constantly changing and refreshed with the weather patterns. View Hatteras Lighthouse with lunch in Hatteras on your own before traveling back up the banks. This afternoon visit Jockey’s Ridge - the tallest natural sand dune system in the Eastern United States. Enjoy the views as well as those enjoying recreation on the dunes with sledding, hang gliders, etc. Stop at the hotel for a chance to enjoy a walk on the beach and freshen-up before dinner at Captain George’s Seafood Buffet - you will enjoy a plentiful buffet with soups, salads, fresh fish, crab legs, land lover favorites and desserts over 125 items. Return to the hotel after dinner

Day 4

Hot breakfast at the hotel Baggage pull and depart for Manteo for shoppimg and an early lunch on your own in their historic fishing village before departing for home.
