Day 1

Arrive in Montreal, Canada today and settle into your conveniently located hotel before meeting your Tour Manager at 6:00 p.m. for a welcome dinner. Meal: D

Day 2

Embark on a narrated tour of Montreal, one of Canada’s vibrant cities known for its rich French-Canadian heritage. Your local guide shows you Old Montreal with its narrow streets lined with a mixture of buildings dating from the 17th century, Place d’Armes, St. Joseph’s Oratory, Mount Royal and Olympic Park, site of the 1976 summer Olympics. Also visit Montreal’s sacred Notre-Dame Basilica, one of the crown jewels of Quebec’s rich religious heritage. This evening, venture back into the past and enjoy the fun, festivities and food at Le Festin du Gouverneur dinner and show. Meals: B, D

Day 3

After breakfast, Canada’s VIA Rail service takes you to Quebec City. The only walled city in North America, Quebec’s Grande-Allee is alive with many quaint shops and sidewalk cafes. On your touring today, pass under the famed St. Louis Arch which leads into old Quebec. We arrive at the banks of the St. Lawrence River and Place Royale, the oldest settlement in the region. See the majestic Parliament Buildings before arriving at the Plains of Abraham, the site of the famous battle of 1759. Tonight, a special Sugar Shack dinner will introduce you to Quebec’s unique culture complete with a maple syrup making tour, musical entertainment and traditional French Canadian cuisine. DAy 4

Depart this morning for a scenic drive along the “Old King’s Road” passing beautiful Normandy and Brittany homes to St. Anne de Beaupre, for a visit to the beautiful shrine, the oldest pilgrimage site in North America. Continuing on, arrive at Manor Montmorency, once the summer home of the Duke of Kent for a breathtaking view of Montmorency Falls. Higher than Niagara, Montmorency is Eastern Canada’s highest waterfall. In the heart of Quebec sits Basilica-Cathedral Note-Dame de Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 5

Learn the intricacies of producing copper art at the Albert Gilles Copper Art Studio with a tour and hands-on workshop to make your own copper work of art. Also enjoy tea and canelé cake at the studio. Later, we come to Ermitage Saint-Antoine, the national shrine founded by the Capuchin religious order in 1907. Our included dinner and overnight stay are on the grounds of the shrine. Meals: B, L, D

Day 6

Traveling to the shores of Lac St-Jean, come to the famed St-Felicien Zoo. Here climb aboard the specially-designed caged train for a narrated tour through the natural wide open spaces of the grounds where numerous species of animals cohabitate in their natural environment. Also visit the Old Perron Cheese Factory to learn how the Perron family has been making its distinguished cheeses since 1886. Back at Ermitage Saint-Bouchette, take time to visit the heritage buildings and museum, view the works of art or stroll the famous Kapatakan Trail. Meals: B, D

Day 7

Today, travel to the city of Trois-Rivieres where you’ll visit the Borealis Center to explore the history of the pulp and paper industry in Quebec. The lives of loggers, construction workers and paper producers come to life. Also visit Canada’s National Shrine, Our Lady of the Cape. The historic chapel was built in 1714 and is one of the two oldest churches in Canada. With its magnificent stained glass windows and unique 5,425 pipe Casvant organ, the shrine welcomes over 250,000 pilgrims a year. Tonight, your Tour Manager hosts a farewell dinner. Meals: B, L, D

After breakfast your group transfer takes you to Montreal’s Dorval Airport for flights out after 1:00 p.m. Meal: B
