Day 1

Arrive at Penn Quarter and enjoy some free time on own in the DC Christmas Markets .Visit the National Portrait Gallery It's always face time at the National Portrait Gallery. You will hear the diverse story of America through leaders, rebels, artists, entrepreneurs, and other prominent personalities who shaped our culture. See the exhibit: "America's Presidents", the nation's only complete collection of presidential portraits outside the White House, this exhibition lies at the heart of the Portrait Gallery's mission to tell the American story through the individuals who have shaped it. The Portrait Gallery shares a building-named the Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture-with the Smithsonian American Art Museum. There are entrances at F and G Streets. Visitors may enter the museum from either entrance. Visit the United States Botanic Garden a living plant museum. Exhibits interpret the role of plants in supporting earth's diverse and fragile ecosystems and in enriching human life. Established by Congress in 1820, the U.S. Botanic Garden is one of the oldest botanic gardens in North America. See the Poinsettias displayed for the season at the Botanic Garden. Afterwards check in to Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center for Christmas on the Potomac. Enjoy the region's most beautiful Christmas decorations with 1,000's of twinkling lights and a 55-foot tall Starlight Christmas tree suspended over the indoor garden atrium. NOTE: Gaylord National Resort is pleased to confirm that it is planning to host its annual holiday celebration - Christmas On The Potomac in 2021. This year's program has been redesigned to deliver the same, magical holiday experience while integrating new, enhanced health & safety measures. This year, children of all ages can experience some of Gaylord National's fan-favorites holiday attractions as well as a new fully immersive interactive experience features iconic moments from some of the most beloved classic Christmas movies including: The Polar Express, A Christmas Story, Elf, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and more. Day 2

Enjoy breakfast at leisure this morning and free time at the resort .Depart with GUIDE and arrive at Mount Vernon, the estate of George Washington. Enjoy lunch on own/included at the Mount Vernon Food Court, Here George Washington escaped the rigors of public office and enjoyed the life of a successful Virginia planter. America's most visited historic house, Mount Vernon sits on a grassy, shaded slope overlooking the Potomac River. Many of the furnishings are original pieces acquired by Washington himself. Mount Vernon is both George Washington's home and final resting-place. This Southern plantation standing on the banks of the Potomac River details the life of the "Father of Our Country" while providing fascinating insights into Colonial times. Please note the Mansion Tour time is tentative until final payment is received. Visit the Ford Orientation Center & Donald W. Reynolds Museum and Education Center at Mount Vernon. The center contain sculptures, paintings, portraits, models, photos, films, documents and diverse artifacts, with succinct descriptions and pithy quotations describing the life, times and accomplishments of our nation's first president. With 25 state-of-the-art galleries the museum displays many objects shown at Mount Vernon for the first time. Afterwards visit the White House Visitor's Center where you can explore an interactive touchscreen tour of the White House, view over 90 artifacts from the White House collection, shop at the White House Historical Association retail store, and view the 14 minute film, "White House: Reflections From Within." Do not bring sharp objects into the Visitor's Center. All bags, purses, etc. are subject to search. Stop for a photo opportunity of the White House!
Get your own special official edition of the 2021 White House Christmas ornament. Visit DC's Heurich House Museums for its annual Christkindlmarkt! The Heurich family's German roots get full on celebration with this unique local event, which recreates a traditional German public Christmas market in its
well-appointed garden. Inspired by German Christmas markets, the event features over 25 local vendors and includes a tour of the decorated historic house. Craftsmanship and entrepreneurship are an important part of the museum's history.
Enjoy dinner included at Buca Di Beppo . The name translates loosely as "Joe's Basement" and Buca di Beppo aims to re-create the experience of an Italian restaurant that might have flourished in New York's Little Italy in the '50s. After dinner Arrive and attend Pageant of Peace in Ellipse Park across from the White House. This is the site of nightly choral performances, a Nativity scene, a burning Yule log, the National Christmas Tree and a spectacular display of lighted Christmas trees representing each state and territory of the United States. Suggested Bus Drop Off Location: White House Visitor Center. Experience the holiday glitter at Enchant, The Great Search; the world's largest Christmas light Maze & Market, located at the elaborately decorated Nationals Park and featuring a luminescent land of larger-than-life sculptures as snow gently falls around you.

Day 3

Enjoy breakfast at leisure this morning, followed by free time at the resort. Check out of The Gaylord. Baggage handling included. We will then depart with a guide to Union Station with free time to explore the shops. The city's main train station is a classic Beaux-Arts design of monumental proportions. Restored to its original grandeur in the 1980's, Union Station features a large food court, a movie theater, shops and kiosks. During the holidays, shoppers flock to the stores inside Union Station and are treated to some of the best holiday decorations in town as an added bonus. Don't miss the special holiday train display in the West Hall or centrally-located tree, gifted to the people of Washington from Norway. Enjoy lunch at your own expense.
Visit the Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens. The mansion is the former home of cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post and features one of the most comprehensive collections of eighteenth and nineteenth-century Russian Imperial art outside of Russia, as well as an extensive collection of eighteenth-century French decorative arts. Highlights include a diamond crown worn by Empress Alexandra at her marriage to Nicholas II; Beauvais tapestries designed by François Boucher; two Imperial Easter eggs by Carl Fabergé; La Nuit by William-Adolphe Bouguereau; and a collection of costumes and accessories worn by Mrs. Post or her family. The greenhouse and formal gardens are set among 25 acres of wooded hillsides located in the heart of Washington, D.C.
