Juneteenth 2026 follow Harriet Tubman accomplishments with a visit to the Underground Railriad, Harriet Tubman Museum and a buffet lunch at Old Salty's on Hooper Island

Our Harriet Tubman Tour

Learn all about the life and accomplishments of Maryland’s most famous daughter while seeing landmarks where she had formative experiences. Feel her story come to life through exhibits at the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center. Enjoy a local home-cooked meal that captures the flavor of the Chesapeake Bay region. Then, enjoy a presentation at the Harriet Tubman Museum and Educational Center, the site of a powerful mural that has garnered national attention!

     9:30 a.m. – Meet Step-On Tour Guide at Dorchester County Visitors Center  The tour guide will board your bus and accompany you throughout the day.

   10:45 a.m. – Visit the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center

   12:45 p.m. – Seafood “buffet-style” Meal at Old Salty’s Restaurant & Gift Shop, Hoopers Island. Meal typically includes crab cakes (one per person), baked chicken, clam strips, fried fish nuggets, corn, salad, and an assortment of pie slices for dessert. Water and iced tea are included for drinks.

     3:15 p.m. – Visit the Harriet Tubman Museum and Educational Center, with mural in Cambridge, MD

     5:00 p.m. – Conclusion of Tour
