Our Hoopers Island Experience Tour

Learn all about the way of life in Dorchester County, Maryland while enjoying the scenery, complete with forests, waterways, and marshes! Tour an oyster aquaculture facility and learn about one of Maryland’s newest industries! Enjoy a local home-cooked meal that captures the flavor of the Chesapeake Bay region. Visit a produce market that is owned by Dorchester farmers. Finish out the day with a visit to a local seafood market, where you can take the taste of Maryland’s Eastern Shore home with you!

   10:00am  Your tour guide will board your bus and accompany you throughout the day.

   11:30 a.m. – Arrive at Madhouse Oysters on Hoopers Island. The tour here will be followed by a driving tour of upper and middle Hoopers Island.

   12:45 p.m. – Seafood “buffet-style” Meal at Old Salty’s Restaurant & Gift Shop, Hoopers Island. Meal typically includes crab cakes (one per person), fish, clam strips, chicken, salad, vegetables, and an assortment of pie slices for dessert. Water and iced tea are included for drinks.

     3:00 p.m. – Visit Emily’s Produce

     4:00 p.m. – Visit Kool-Ice & Seafood in Cambridge, MD

     4:45 p.m. – Return to Dorchester County Visitor Center/Conclusion of Tour
